During the Second World War, Joni-Pip’s American Father moves her and her family to Sherwood Forest in Nottinghamshire, England. When her life in the wood begins she is amazed to discover that Ethelred-Ted, her favourite toy and all the animals in the wood can speak!

The story is set in 1942 in England and spans three centuries, where the characters Jump in Time to try and make a Bad Past into a Better Future.
